“…how am I going to impact my society?
I’m not marching on Washington
I’m not protesting
I’m not going to a rally because
We’ve
Tried
That.
So, I will never raise my fists to the sky because my Lord is there I said,
I will never raise my fists to the sky because my Lord is there.
Instead I will unclench my fists, open my hands, and worship because My Lord
Is
There.
And I, I will never bring them down even when it begins to hurt.
I will never bring them down even when it begins to hurt even when people are laughing at me.
I will never bring them down when I don’t even have to keep them up because it hurt and people were laughing but he never came down.
This unconditional worship is just a symbol of my life when I’m walking around
Because in Christ the cure for social injustice can only be found.”

Well, I’ve been doing school. Physical Science is killing me but I’m plugging along; understanding more each day. I hope to finish highschool by March. If I’m lucky, I’ll be.done by February when Mom’s baby is due — but with the way things are playing out, I think it’s going to be closer to.March.
I’ve also been reading as much as I can. Along with keeping up on Book Ponderings, Katy’s and my book blog, I’ve been trying to write more reviews on my personal review blog, Reviews By Jane. Unfortunately, with how busy I’ve been with school, normal day activities, and trying to find time to write(explained further below), I haven’t been able to read as much as I’d like to. I can’t wait to be finished with school so I can read and write more. Only 3 more months! Hallelujah!
Another thing I’ve been busy with is writing. Katy and I have started a book currently called Scattered Tears and are spending every spare moment writing. Unfortunately I have less spare time than Katy — but like I said on the subject of reading, I can’t wait to finish school so I can use the hours I work on school for writing! Hopefully by summer or fall, we will be finished and going through the many editing processes that follow finishing the final chapter. Katy has been a WONDERFUL writing companion and I couldn’t imagine writing this novel with anyone else — she has so many great ideas and is really easy going when it comes to changing ideas and such. Its been so much fun and I can’t wait to see how the story ends!
I’m about to start a study on the book of 1 Timothy. I love this book of the Bible and can’t wait to read through it and study it!
Of course we are all anticipating the arrival of our next sibling — who mom really thinks is a girl. We are having a home birth, so that will be a new experience; and for the first time ever, I’ll be able to be there during the birth of the baby!
Well that’s about all that’s going on in my life right now. I can’t wait to go to Milton in a few weeks and go to one of my friend’s wedding, have a friend reunion, and have tons of fun! Hopefully we’ll be able to visit all our friends while we’re there(that means you, Mrs. J! We’ve GOT to get together!).
Anywho, that’s what’s going on in the life of Kait, a.k.a Jane, a.k.a Janie, a.k.a Annie, a.k.a Kat, etc etc.
Have you ever met two girs who are completely different when it comes to fashion sense but when it comes to food, they both will take Doritos, cookies, and a large bottle coke – and they both become ridiculously hyper on them? Did you ever see how they both have a habit of staying up until mid-morning watching movies, or sharing stories of the past, or reliving jokes of the day? Have you seen them attempt to dance civil war style dances across each other’s bedroom floor because they just love to dance and be dorks?
Well, if you have seen any of the above in two girls, those two girls would have to be, with no amount of doubt, Victoria and me.
What about this? Have you ever seen two girls who are way overly obsessed with books…and writing….and texting…and chatting…and blogging….and talking…and laughing…and teasing…? Have you seen how they talk about just every subject under the sun, and how they never go more than a day without talking to one another? Did you see how they are so much alike, it’s creepy? Or how often they come up with the same idea at the EXACT same time — and nearly daily…so much that it’s eerie? Or, perhaps, how they both have a ridiculous fascination with books and reviewing them…who could write together for hours into the night – and enjoy every moment of it? Who make ideas on a whim and hours later it’s taking flight?
…Two girls who laugh so often and can not believe how similar they are?
Those to girls are without a doubt Katy and me. No doubt.
What about two girls who are different as night and day, but still manage to be great friends? Two girls who confide in each other about problems in life? Two girls who can laugh at themselves and each other when in the middle of an argument? Or how they could be silly for hours without end?
That has got to be Lizzy and me.
Or how about those two girls who nearly never talk to each other in person; but realize that there is a lot similar about them when they text? Those two girls who are both the ones who enjoy being in the kitchen or taking care of one of the kids? Two girls who stayed close friends after the one girl moved?
Well that couldn’t be anyone but Jessica and me.
Have you ever seen a group of teens — all of them complete goofballs — always doing crazy stuff together? Who you usually find playing volleyball, or ultimate frisbee, or playing cards, or campaigning somewhere, or gathered around a fire? Have you seen how everyone of them is always smiling, teasing, laughing when together? Have you seen how they are always making senseless jokes that no one in their right mind unsterstands…explaining why they all do?
That is most definitely my group. Definitely.
Just in case you’ve seen any of the above and wonder what on earth was the world coming to.
Nah.
That’s just friends and me.
No worries.
Umm…
Never mind. You might want to worry.
Just a bit.
Ever read the book of the Bible called The Song Of Solomon? If you haven’t, I don’t blame you. Not all the expressions in there are what you’d call child friendly.
But if you have, and you’re a guy, I just wanted to point something out…
If you’re looking for some Biblical advice on flattering a woman, don’t use Song Of Solomon 1:9.
I have compared you, my love,
To my filly among Pharaoh’s chariots
DO NOT
under ANY circumstances
compare your beloved to to a horse.
No. That’s just not going to sit well at all.
And while you’re at it, it might just be wise to not mention that her eyes are like dove eyes.
Or that her hair is like goat’s hair.
Or that her teeth are like freshly shorn sheep.
Sheep? Really?
And if you, my future beloved, whoever you are, promise not to compare my nose to the tower of Lebanon, I promise to not compare you to a gazelle.
Now, if you want to get on my good side, you could use verses like 2:2 -
Like a lily among thorns
is my darling among the young women. But then again, that may be slightly insulting to my fellow female friends. Perhaps you shouldn’t say that around them.
Yeah. That’s not a good idea. Let’s stick to verses like 7:6.
How fair and how pleasant you are,
O love, with your delights!
and perhaps 1:15 -
Behold, you are fair, my love!
Behold, you are fair!
And maybe then, I’ll rather use verses like 1:16 -
Behold, you are handsome, my beloved!
Yes, pleasant!
And 5:10-11.
My beloved is radiant and ruddy,
outstanding among ten thousand.
His head is purest gold;
his hair is wavy
and black as a raven.
Actually, my unknown future beloved, if you could have black, wavy hair that would be pretty awesome. Just a heads up. That’d be cool.
But anyway. I’m getting off track.
Really, just please don’t compare me to any animal and we’ll be good. Well maybe.
*thinks for a second*
Actually, buy me chocolate and don’t compare me to an animal and we’ll be good. Yeah.
But just to let you know, my future beloved, I am waiting patiently for you.
Do not stir up nor awaken love until it pleases.I shall try with my utmost strength to follow the advice of the Shulamite woman.
Just as long as you promise to not compare me to an animal.
Thanks.
I am thankful for my amazing Savior, my goofy family, my sophisticated sister, my writing companion, my special friends, my hospitable Church family, my cute puppy, my yummy food, my warm house, my funny Sam H., my blessed life…all of these “mine” by the grace of our Lord God, and for that I am most thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving
I just learned that some old friends of ours that we havent seen in a exuberant amount of time are coming to visit us this weekend!! I am SO excited to see my old friends! Its been way Way WAY too long! (Can you tell I’m excited?)
But anyway…I guess that does lift my spirits a bit after not being able to attend the ball this coming weekend. Now I have something to look forward to once more!
Yipee!
Its 48 degrees outside right now. The high for today is 64(oh and we have a 3% chance of rain, according to weather bug – very accurate. Lol)
But anyway…we lit our fireplace this morning. It’s pretty. And warm. And, in my opinion, unnecessary…but nice nonetheless.
*sigh*…it just got here. The cold, that is. And I already want it gone. Now. Like go. Away. I like my warm springs and summers and falls. One day of cold is enough for me. I mean, if it snowed it might be a bit different. I like a good month or so of snow. But Florida cold is like so totally pointless. All it does is keep you indoors. Well it keeps other people inside. Not me. Or my brothers.
But anywho…theres a post. Time for me to migrate south. Wait…I’m just about as south as south goes. Oh well.
