Our Dizzy Bat Tournament

Yup. That's what we had, and it was a lot of fun. Thanks to Kim and Jason's great idea, we had a great hour of fun on Saturday. Well, I had better not spoil any more of the fun, everything is explained in this video I've made. Enjoy!

Oh, I accidentally in the credits said 'Themselve' instead of 'Themselves', but it would have taken it forever to upload again and I didn't feel like waiting.

Fun At The River Walk

For the last 2 weeks my friends Katie, Lizzy, and I have been trying to get together to get some pictures of each other. Eventually, we scheduled a day to do it - Today, June 25th.
It ended up being Lizzy, Josh, and their younger sister, Anna, and Jessica, Katie, Danny, and their 5 younger sisters. I took TONS of pictures! Katie brought their camera, so they took some pictures, too. But, in between the pictures, there was lots of laughter...and funny un-known shots! Like this...

Don't ask me what was going on here, but apparently Katie was taking break time to teach her older sister and Lizzy some of her kung-fu magic.
Or perhaps this...

Technical Difficulties..Again!

Urrgg! Sorry, but my banner isn't coming up. Hopefully it'll be back up soon!
Webhero's gonna drive me mad...

Sorry It's Late!

Today's writing prompt comes from Our Blessed Arrows. If you decide to participate in The Creative Word please leave a link to it in my comments- don't worry about grammar, no body's gonna judge you. It isn't about perfection. I encourage you to write, even if it isn't online. Write with a pen and paper. Write in the sand and then wipe it away. Be funny, be serious, open up your heart, be you and just write.

Here is today's writing topic -Write about the biggest, or one of the biggest life changing events in your life.

Well, I think it was probably our move here and the most wonderfulest, influential, friends I've made since then.
We moved in at the end of June, 2008 and I was so upset that we were moving. Why, I have no idea. I hated Colfax, I guess it was family and my one friend, Megan, that I was going to miss. But anyhow, I was not happy. We got here, I loved the area, but was disappointed to see that there were no familys in the neighborhood with children over the age of 9. We searched around for Churches, and after many tries finally found a good church family. Our first visit there was awesome. After the normal potluck lunch, we hung out and met a bunch of people. In this group of many people, I met my great friends - Sarah and Victoria, We learned of and started going to a co-op, where I quickly made friends with Danny and Alex, and after having to stand in front of the entire co-op to be sung happy birthday to with Josh, who I didn't know then, I met my now good friend Josh, and though Josh I met his sister, Lizzy, and through Lizzy I met her best friend, Katie. We're all now great friends, and during co-op are never far apart. Lizzy is the great influence that taught me how to be in this world, but not of it, and Victoria's influence has taught me that femininity is very important, and Katie taught me that you can still have fun even if you are a girl and wear skirts all time. :) And all those girls brothers have taught me what I need to teach my brothers!
So, I guess to sum it all up, I want to say thanks to all of my great friends who have and still influence my life every day. I love y'all!

Volley Ball...

Okay. I really need to catch up with my updates on volley ball.

Well, it isn't a game anymore. And, it isn't always fun anymore either. We are now a team, and a couple games of volley ball is now practice.

9:00am - 10:30am
We start out by running 2 laps around the small backyard of the church where we play. Then we do stretches, then we do exercises like lunges. 30 second water break. Then we do drills. You mess up, your running a lap. 30 second water break. Then we do more drills. You mess up, you do 5 push-ups. 30 second water break. More drills. 30 second water break. Then we play a single game. Done. Now we put up the net.

Now, as I was informed on Sunday, we have practices on Friday, too. Apparently they did more than practice. I heard about swimming, and kayaking, and paddle-boating. I never even knew. Too bad. It sounds like I missed a lot. :(

Well, I actually like the tough exercises. Though it is steaming hot, and you feel like your going to die of heat, I like it. Well, maybe I'll ask Mrs. Smith or someone to take pictures of us during practice so you can see what we do.

In But Not Of?

Yup. That's me. In, but not of. It's my motto. The thing that defines me. What does it mean? Let me tell you.

In, but not of is a saying which means that I am in this world, but refusing to be part of this world. About 3 months ago, a friend of mine, and the rest of her family, gave me a different perspective on life after telling me that saying.
The world is evil and I, being a Christian, should do my best to push away the evil. I figured that I don't have much of a choice about being in this world, but I most certainly do have a choice about whethet or not I will be a part of the world. Don't agree with me? Here's another reason. - I want my light to shine. I want to be able to walk down the street and for people to just look at me and know that I am different, not normal. Here are a couple of ways I do that.

  1. I wear skirts 95% of the time. Except for sports like Volleyball, and the occasional horseback riding, I almost always wear skirts. I have only 1 pair of jeans, and I don't even feel comfortable in them because I never wear them.
  2. I keep my hair long and un-colored.
  3. I do not wear makeup, except for the occasional light eye shadow for a slight sparkle and lip gloss.
  4. I do not wear high-heel shoes. Ever. Never have and never will. They are also very bad for your back.
  5. At 14, most teens are a looking forward to, or are already dating. I will not be participating in the casual dating, but will be courted in the proper way. My knight will ask my father to court me, when most parents have really no idea what their kids are up to. My father, on the night of my courtship, will know exactly where I will be at what time and when I will be home.
  6. I do not participate in Facebook, MySpace, or Flickr, where I am open to evil. In fact, I don't even use chat. The reason I don't use Facebook and MySpace is that they put not-so-appropriate adds on, and I would be open for any person to come and talk to me, therefore not being able to choose my friends as wisely as I would if I met them in person. As our pastor put it a couple weeks ago, "Why should we participate in something that Christ is excluded from?". As for Flickr, your open to bad pictures left and right. You never know what your going to find on there.

There are a lot more ways that I refrain from this world, those are just the main ones. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you should throw every pair of jeans you have into the trash, it's just my way of saying "Hey, I'm different.".

Tether Ball, Lizards, and A Bit of Fun!

At first glance, your probably thinking "What on earth...", Yes. That is a monster, blow up tether ball, but I can tell you that that there tether ball is about the neatest outside toy we've ever gotten. My brothers found it fasinating when they learned that there was a game where the objective was to slam the ball into the opponants face, facinated and extremely pleased. Though I am not in any of the pictures, mainly because I was the one taking the pictures, I enjoy it also. A game where I can hit a ball as hard as I can? You can't even do that in volley ball!
My parents are fun to watch while they play that game, because my mom always laughing to hard to hit the ball and win herself, and my dad loves my mom too much to not let her win, which is why the game takes practicly 3 years to end. It's awesome.

And then there's the lizard. Riley, is his name. He's a really pretty lookin' lizard when he's green. Joe's green anole made a perfect picture as he stuck out his bright red dewflap.
