Recent Happenings

Well in the recent weeks that we’ve lived here( 2 weeks today), many interesting happenings have taken place.(you can read it summed up on my moms blog.
It’s been quite crazy, though surprisingly we have nothing going every day. For various reasons, we’ve been unable to attend the church we’ve had in mind to try, so we’ve just been hanging out at home. I am excited, though, because I am going up to South Carolina for a week to stay with my aunt and cousins in 5 days. I’m SO excited to see all of the famiy on my moms side: it’s been several years since i’ve seen them! They’re comig down saturday to get me. I cant wait!
We’re going over to visit Milton soon…I’m thinking maybe a week after I get home from sc, but no date has been set yet. It will be soon though! I can’t wait to see all of my awesome friends! Well, almost all of them.
Dad starts training again next week. That’ll be exciting for him I’ll bet! It’s been a while!
Oh; moms belly is getting bigger everyday, that is the baby inside is.;-) Only five more weeks and we can find out what it is and send it to our church, without is knowingthe results, so they can plan a baby shower accordingly and then when we go to it we’ll find out what it is by the way they decorate and buy stuff! I myself would rather just find out, but I think my mom enjoys putting me through harmless agony. :-p Golly last time they knew what Jesse was the whole time and neverold me! Lol

I recently finished a book recommend by a friend of mine. “Adam” by Ted Dekker was VERY good, and I also recommend it to readers who enjoyed “Piercing the Darkness” by Frank Peretti and “Thr3e” by Ted Dekker. You can read a review on it here.

Well other than that, not much is going on. I’ll be posting pictures from my trip to sc when I get back. Adios for now!

Dear Milton(i.e Pace, Pensacola)

You were amazing. The perfect town, in fact. I wasn’t excited about moving to you. I wasn’t devastated either, but it definitely wasn’t on my top ten places I want to live. Or even close. How is it that now, I wouldn’t choose to live anywhere else? I am blessed to have lived in you for the 2 years I did.

Perhaps it isn’t you that I love so much, but the people who dwell in you. I mean, you’re an awesome town and all that, but what made you awesome? It certainly wasn’t the scenery, or the wildlife, or the attractions. No. It was the people that made you so great. Do you realize what special people live within you?
Do you realize how many memories took place in the midst of your city limits? Or the laughter that abounded under the roofs of your houses? Or the jokes that were made in your lawns?

You are blessed, Milton. Amazing.

You are home.

The Time Has Come

We’re moving. I know I’ve said this several times before, but this time I mean it. We’re moving. In 16 days. The movers will be here next Tuesday. It’s happening. It’s no longer something we know is coming but are shoving aside so we can thuroughly enjoy our time here, it’s now. It’s next week.
The time has come.
In 8 days my parents are going to find us a house in Jacksonville. A friend is going to come stay with us for the day while they’re over there. The next day the movers come and pack our stuff. They finish and pull out Thursday. We leave Monday, the 9th.
My farewell party was last night. My very sweet friend, Lizzy, planned it and held it at her house. It was so much fun, dictionary.com couldn’t find a word to describe it. Most of the people there I knew I’d see again, but others I knew this would be the last time before the move.  It was bittersweet, but we all had smiles on the whole time and were having tons of fun.
We’ve been campaigning this month a lot. Twice a week, in fact, more than 10 hours a week. I’ve learned so much about my closest friends through campaigning. Because you are walking the whole time, you must come up with conversation. You learn so much about your partner/s. There have been so many laughs and jokes, though some are embarrassing, like the ones at Dairy Queen, others are just plain memories that will never be forgotten, like missed houses and our protectors. And whoever knew that Aaron’s truck was really a traveling perfume department? Campaigning has probably been one of the best experiences of my life. Not only am I learning tons about politics and Governors of Florida and the countys therein(long goofy story), but I also get to spend much time with my most amazing friends. After the stress of the days;  getting lost in the seemingly endless rows of houses, having to backtrack after missing houses, dealing with not-so-nice people; and on top of all that doing it under the blistering hot Florida sun in 100 degree weather really shows both sides of your companions, and it makes one feel lucky to still have you’re friends afterward(hahaha) and love your friends even more for how well they handle disquieting situations. :-) I love my campaigning group. Plain and simple.

Well that’s what’s happening. My last campaigning day is Monday. It’s a LONG day too, so it will be one to remember. God has been good! It has been so much fun living here, and I am not eager to leave. But I know that Jacksonville will be just another chapter in my life, and I’m glad that Jacksonville is only like 5-6 hours away from here! I am blessed.

You Know Your Nation’s Crazy When…

1. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

2. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

3. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
