Braces part 2

I had my appointment with the orthodontist today. I get my braces on the…secret!!! Only Katie and the White-a-rooskies know. MWAHAHAHA!!!!

I thought that I’d write a post about my mouth, at it’s current state.

Here is the x-ray -

Apparently my bottom 12 year molars never came in, and my wisdom teeth are filling in for them...side ways.

Apparently my bottom 12 year molars never came in, and my wisdom teeth are filling in for them...side ways.

xray2

My mouth is incredibly small, apparently. In-cred-i-bly small. Can you imagine if my 12 year molars had come in, too?

Obviously, my teeth can’t stay like that. Instead of pulling them, which would change the shape of my face, they are going to pull them back into place.

xray3

Pretend the blue oval is a metal rod with a spring on it that will pull my molars back into place. Dr. Brooks will insert the rod onto my tooth and attach that to my jaw bone so it will be pulled back into place. Sounds gruesome, eh? =) But it’s not, really.

That’s just the bottom back. Everybody knows that I need braces for the front on the bottom and top.

So, when I get braces next (beep), my teeth will be on their way to straightness! Dr. Brooks says that I’ll have straight teeth within 6 monthes, though I’ll have braces for  2 and a half years.

So, once again I move on to em’brace’ the future!!

Braces

My mom just scheduled my dentist appointment. It’s for the 12th. Then they’ll refer me to an orthadontist. Mom’ll schedule an appointment with the orthadontist probably that day. Then I’ll go the the orthadontist. He’ll/she’ll tell me I need braces, and discuss with my parents the options I have. They’ll agree on one. Then they’ll make another appointment. The appointment. I’ll go in as a ball of nerves, and come out as metal-mouth. At least that’s what family will call me for a while, and I’m sure most of my friends will be merciless, too, with the exception of Katie and Danny, cause they’ll be right with me, having Katie gotten hers a couple weeks ago and Danny getting his tomorrow. Wait…they’ll probably be merciless, too. =)
I’m pretty sure I’ll get used to it. I have another couple weeks to enjoy the leisure of popcorn, sugary chewy candies, and all that other stuff I can’t have once I have braces on. I’ve already decided I’m going to have popcorn for dinner and desert the night before my … braces-putting-on-thingie. =)

So, I go on to brave the future…whatever that means.

Dream

On the way home from Winn-Dixie this evening, I started to tell my mom what my “dream home” looked like.
“It’ll be a log cabin type house on 5000 acres of flat land right here in Florida.”, I started. “3 stories. It’ll have a huge basement where the kids’ll play. Ride outside there will be a huge barn.” I continued.
“Is that where you’ll keep all of your horses?” she asked.
“Some of them. We’ll have a separate stable for the horses people hire my husband to train.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah. You see, my husband will be this famous horse trainer, and everyone for miles around will bring all of their young horses to our stables to be trained.”
“Ahh.”
“Yes, and we’ll have a training area right behind the barn with 9ft high fences, so the regulation is all good. It’ll be all dirt and dust because of how often it’s used.”
“Oh, this sounds cool.”, my mother mentioned.
“Oh yes. And then we’ll have a huge corral out by the huge stable. That’s where we’ll keep all of our fillys and mares, and then another one by it to keep all of the stallions in, so they are separate.”
“Oh…”
“Yes, and the barn we’ll have a heater in it for the chilly winters. We’ll have an indoor training arena for our horses so we can keep em in shape in the winter.”
“What’ll the barn be for? Won’t you keep all the horses in the stables or corrals?”
“Ahh yes. We will keep our two milking cows in the barn, along with our horses that are expecting soon or are injured. We’ll also have the petting zoo with goats in the barn, just for you, Mom.”
“Awesome. I guess you’d better put an ad in the paper for a husband that’ll give you all this.”, my mother said with a chuckle.
“Yeah right. WANTED: Husband who will give me everything I want.”, I returned with a laugh.
“Something like that.”, my mother returned with a smile.
“Oh, I can’t forget that on our honeymoon we’re going to ride horses down the beach. I hate the beach, but I think riding horses down the shore line would be so awesome.” I said.
“Oh, that sounds like fun. You’d better start looking, you only have 3-5 years” Mom replied jokingly.
I laughed with her. It was a fun conversation.
“But, you know, the probability of this happening is, like, 1 in 100000000000000000. Or something.” I said with a sigh. ”But it’s always fun to imagine a perfect life.”
“Haha, yeah.”, my mother finished as we pulled into our driveway.
My dream has been the same for about 6 years now, though it changes mildly thourgh the years. =)

Dreams are fun. And pretty funny, considering they always change as soon as the time comes. I love to dream. Thinking about what my perfect house would look like, the perfect vacation(which, by the way, would be at the Galapogus Islands), and the perfect life. But, of course, then you hit reality, and you realize that the perfect house is wherever your family is, and that the perfect vacation may be a weekend spent with your friends, and the perfect life is the one your living at the present. Every time I start to think about what my perfect anything would be, I stop and look up from where I sit. I see a family who loves me and that I love tremendously. I see friends who smile at me and make me feel like the luckiest person in the world, which I think I am. =) I see a life full of mistakes, sorrows, joy, and happiness… but that joy I feel when one of my brothers gives me one of their goofy grins, or that overflowing happiness I feel when I laugh with my friends would not be nearly as enjoyable if there was no grief or sadness. Where is joy if there is no sorrow, and where in reconciliation without mistakes?
So even as I dream away, I remember the gifts God has given me already. And I realize that really, I have everything I could ever desire.

It is the most wonderful time of the year…

Let’s cut right to the chase.

Merry Christmas.
Happy New Year.

The end…for that.
Then the parties came. Whoo, and lots of them! Here are the two I got pictures of.
The first party was at Lizzys. It was on New Years Eve from 6:30 to 12:00. We played games and stuff like that, but I think for most of it we girls argued with the guys about what to play. =)

During dinner, we asked some of the guys to get some pictures of us!

We got home at around 1:15. It was a blast, though.
I woke up the next morning at 10:00. I had to get up then because (1)we had a get-together planned at the park at 1, and (2)my dad said so. =(
=)
We went to the park to the get together I had planned, and tossed around a football for a while with the few people that were there already. Then when everybody got there we played a game of volleyball. There was a slight breeze, and a mild chill…not at all! There was a MAJOR BREEZE and it was FREEZING!!!!!  By 3:00 we had ended up under the shelter huddled up as close as we could to each other to keep warm.

Then John decided that breaking the table would be a good pass time.

Christmas Party at Co-op – The “real” story

Danny and Me C-R-A-Z-Y!!!!!!!

It was awesome.

Two Monday’s ago we had a Christmas party at our co-op. It was TONS of fun! We went to Church History for our first and only class, and enjoyed hearing Mr. White-a-rooskie teach us about Church History(what do ya know?).
After that we, Lizzy, Victoria, Josh, Spencer, and Christina, went and played volleyball in the gym for a while. We eventually decided it would be a good idea to set up the net(duh) and play a real game. After our first game of girls vs. boys(we’re not going to talk about that), Danny, Jake, and Kevin showed up. We grabbed a few stragglers and got together our teams. I learned two important things while playing volleyball that day; when there are 4 people on a team, and Danny’s on your team and the balls coming straight to you for a perfect hit…duck. Cause your going to get tackled if you don’t by a aggresive playing Danny. Thing number two; when Josh or Jake is serving the ball…back up. Really far. And be prepared for head trauma if you miss the ball.  Good luck hittting it.

Volley Ball Playing Volley Ball…Kind of!

Then snacks came. Katie finally showed up during it, hurray!
We all enjoyed the snacks. I even got to try tea-chips. You get those when your friend tells the story about how he put a doughnut in my tea on Sunday to his friend, and that friend thinks that I should also try tea-chips so he puts one of my chips in my tea. Taste…interesting.

Then more volleyball.

Then we had the talent show.
That was great. My brave friend, Victoria, took the place of Lizzy who was supposed to be my announcer but chickened out at last minute. Every person at the talent show was ever so greatful to Victoria, for the talent show would have failed without her.

Then came Ultimate Frisbee. That was a LOT of fun! It’s our P.E. sport right now, and I, for one, am LOVING it! I was trying to find a frisbee to put on my header(above), but instead I found a silouete of someone playing volleyball. I though it fit okay, and the frisbee search was not turning out.

Well, that concludes my post. It was a spendiforous day! Thanks be to Christina for all of the pictures, and to Victoria for sending them to me!
