So…yeah we’ve kinda become four-square addicts. It happened about two days ago. And now it’s all we do. Come 2:30, the neighborhoodians one-by-one make their way to our house and join the group of children in our driveway. See, the driveways have these perfect squares in them so it’s perfect.
It’s pretty awesome.
Here’s a video I had Skylar take yesterday of us playing. Usually we have more kids than that but it was around dinner time so a lot of them had left.
Oh well.
P.S. Sometime in this video I get hit very hard in the head with the ball. You don’t see it because Skylar is looking elsewhere but it happened. I don’t know why I am telling you this but whatever.

We play different from y’all. We don’t hit the top of the ball ball with a downwards motion. Rather, we hit the bottom/side it with an upwards-ish motion. Hitting it from the top results in an instant-out in our rules (it prevent from people slamming it into space). But you look like you’re enjoying your game, so play on!

Oooh that’s good! We have a rule called “no treetops” or “cherry bombs”, which is hitting it so hard that it either bounces so high you can’t hit it or at such a speed it can’t possibly be hit, but then there are arguments about whether it actually was a cherry bomb or whatnot so that is a great rule! We’ll have to instill it today…
And it’s so funny! Watching this, I’m like “oh my gosh we have all gotten SO much better.”
Last night we had like 5 or 6 of the boys around here playing with us and we would be playing one round for more than a minute or two at some points before it was lost.
We’ve gotten pretty good! I’ll have to get more footage this afternoon…

I remember the treetops and cherry bombs >_>
When I played, kids would get in fights over those. So that’s why we implemented the underhand hits. Keeps from having that happen. I’ll be looking out for more footage! Maybe you could even make it to the big league
