Today we had a 4-H project to work on at our 4-H leaders house. She lives about 15 miles outside of town, and has a very nice country home. We went with some friends of ours who also picked up Ele and Korbin who live down the street from us. We get there a half and hour early and nobodies really there, so us kids go in the backyard and start messing around. They have a mini zip-line in their backyard which was about 20 feet long and 9 feet high at the starting point. So we’re all messing around on it, and people keep showing up until we have about 20 kids lined up for this tiny zip-line. I went on it twice and was done, it was kinda boring and definitely wasn’t worth the 10 minute wait. Eventually everybody got there and we did our project(we made a compost pile) and everything. Afterwards we were told that there was a surprise out in the barn.
The surprise was a zip-line that started in their barn loft, about 40 feet off the ground, and ended about 90 feet away. Of course I was at the end of the line, and just ahead of me was Joe(brother), Andrew, and Spencer(Andrew and Spence are brothers). We’re chatting about random things, mostly about how high the zip-line is and making jokes about it and stuff. One of the people who was running the thing said that if you wanted to you could go without the harness. There were a couple of boys who were like “I can do it!”. Guess how long that lasted. Those “tough boys” got up there and immediately said they wanted the harness. Wimps.
I watched Spencer and Joe go down. I eventually got up there and got the harness on. I grabbed the handle, looked down, and jumped. It was SO FUN!! It felt so good to have the breeze in your face, considering it was about 83 degrees and we had just put together a pile of compost.
Afterwards, I decided that I was going to go down that thing with no harness. I went back up, grabbed the handles, looked down, and hesitated. Then I went down. It was even more fun! I was the 2nd person, I think, to go down without a harness. After I did it, Spencer decided he was going to do it too. I followed him up the stairs and stood behind him in line. After a little waiting it was his turn. He stood up there and eventually went down. I followed suit.

After that I went and hung out with Victoria and Christina who were taking pictures of random stuff. That was fun!

It was a lot of fun, and we learned a lot about compost. Whoo. I had a good time.

Made a compost. Zipped the zip line. Hung with friends. Laughed a laugh.
All was good.
