I am really proud of you and Katy. When I was a girl I also wanted to be a writer. I remember starting a "book". I think I wrote about 25 pages, front and back, on notebook paper. I even sketched out a book cover illustration! But I never finished it. I started out with a story idea but never thought it through and ran out of steam. All I remember now is that the main character's name was Jacy- (a name I thought I created, but a few years ago I heard of a girl named Jacy, though I think it was spelled differently)- and she was full of all the requisite teen angst. She desperately wanted a pair of in-style tennis shoes, basically Keds, and the cool thing was to have all your friends sign your shoes. Sadly, Jacy didn't have enough friends to make her shoes look like those of a popular person...and yeah, it just gets worse. I'm really glad I ran out of steam on that one! But I'd give anything to have those pages back! And yes, we do need to get together. When are you coming?
