My grandmother just recently passed away so my grandfather will now be living on his own. We knew this day would come being since my grandmother has been ill for quite some time now. We have tried talking granddad into moving in with my mom and dad or even an assisted living community, but he’s as stubborn as ever and refuses. He’s always been very independent, he’s been working since he was 14 to help his mom who at the time was single and had to support him and his 6 brothers and sisters. He got home security Rochester to get my father off his back. My dad still bugs him and tries to talk him into moving in with him almost every day, but I keep telling him to forget it, it’s not going to happen. I go visit him as often as I can just so that I can check in on him and he’s doing perfectly fine living on his own. He cooks all his meals and keeps his house clean.

So I have six brothers. Six younger brothers. Yes. Six. That’s a lot. And with a lot of boys comes a lot of noise. [Hey that rhymes...] Clanging stick swords, banging of whatever drum set they have made of random objects around the house, plastic guns making their little “click” sounds, and of course all their screeching that goes along with it. Its annoying quite often. But sometimes we just have to sit back and listen…listen to their squeals, their giggles, their noises. For someday they will be gone…and I know life is going to sound awfully quiet.

Cherish each moment.

I’m not sure how many of y’all are nurses or doctors or halloween dresser-uppers or just weird people, but you can buy scrubs over at this place here — http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/

It’s true y’all. You can buy em. I mean, come on. You know you want to. That weird person who likes to wear scrubs just for fun is hiding somewhere down deep inside. I’m not sure why. And it is pretty weird. But yeah.

So yep. Do it.

What in the world did we do before the internet? When my daughter was born last year I had two options: either quit my job or find a way to work from home so I could take care of her during the day. They weren’t the most attractive options but my boss agreed to let me be here and work remotely and it’s actually worked out really well. I started by looking into Satellite Internet Broadbandfor the house and I set myself up a little home office in the spare bedroom so I’d have a dedicated space to work in. My daughter loves being home with me all day and I’m just happy not to have to put her in day care…I think what my husband likes most is that we didn’t lose my income when we became parents! I thoroughly recommend to each of you to look into the work from home option if it’s something you’re considering…most bosses are more receptive to the idea than you might think they would be in the long run.

Thanks to Emily Laki for the guest post.

Going on long bike rides with my family is my favorite summer time activity. This year my husband bought me a bike that he saw one night on our Direct tv. It is a cruising bike for me because I wanted to retire my mountain bike for the year until my baby is a little older. This new bike was perfect for a baby seat.

I started taking our baby on short trips to the store and back until he got used to riding on the bike. Now he is able to ride for an hour, when we take our family bike rides. We enjoy riding as a family because we are able to go where ever we want and the other children love having that control.

We play follow the leader through our small town in the mornings so that we can get a break from being in the house. The older children like to ride their bikes to go visit people in town, so we will all go to see their aunt across town on the weekends.

Biking is wonderful and my family and I use it for recreation but also transportation. This helps us help the environment, which we are very concerned with these days. We hate to put the bikes in storage each fall and can’t wait to get them back out again for summer.
