The weather here in Jacksonville has been retarded lately.

It has been hopping from 70 to 50 degrees overnight, not exaggerating. I swear the weathermen are just throwing random numbers into the forecast because they’re predictions are completely inaccurate every single day. I seriously have no idea how to dress for the day until I actually step outside.

Now only that, but we have pollen alerts and also excessively low humidity. Yesterday the humidity level was at 20%. Usually it’s between 70%-90% here on the beach.

So not only are my allergies acting up like crazy, making me sneeze, endure lovely headaches, and have itchy sinuses, but the lack of moisture in the air is also leaving my throat sore and dry.

I got a whopping 4 hours of restless sleep last night.

Thanks Florida, you’re the best.

At least we can go to the beach on those warmer days.

I is for Indubitably because that’s what my friend says all the time. He keeps on using that word. I do not think it means what he thinks it means. It’s pretty inconceivable.

This was definitely not the time that we broke their broom playing a game. And this definitely isn't him trying to straighten it with a hammer.

Okay so maybe he actually does know what it means because he knows what a lot of weird words like that mean but I had no idea so I’m going to tell you in case you didn’t. Though you probably did because you’re probably smarter than me and know words and how to do things like division, which I swear has no purpose but to destroy my life forever.

Anyway.

Indubitably. It means unquestionable.

Yeah that’s basically it. So I guess Skylar uses it right. But way too often so I think that totally makes him wrong again.

Plus he’s a guy so… yep he’s wrong.

You’re probably still confused about that whole division thing now, thinking “What de heck can she really not do dat?”

Umm. I probably could do some stupidly ridiculous horrific simple division problem but I’d hate every moment of it. I basically think that it’s the most horrible thing on the planet. Second maybe to war. Except war can sometimes be good.
But division, people, is NEVER good.

Sorry Future Husband, YOU are teaching the kids division. And algebra. And everything more complex than the alphabet.

I’m probably never going to find a husband.

Because I can’t do simple things like division.

Because division is evil.

Indubitably.

P.S. For the record, I did actually get almost all A’s in math and successfully graduated highschool. So I can do it. Or could at one time. Kinda like algebra.

This is the picture I wanted. I was writing a blog post over on my review blog. I miswrote the title in the search bar and ended up typing, “What he has to be if he wants to marry my daughter”. Not that big of a difference, and the picture came up…but what came up with it disturbed me.

For those of you who may be lucky enough not to know who this is, this is Justin Bieber. Why. On earth. Did this come up when I searched that?

I Think They Want Me To Starve

Today as I was sitting before the computer, talking to Katy and writing our book, I had a sudden urge for something to snack on. I stood up and strode to the kitchen, glancing into the pantry and fridge for something edible and satisfying. I spotted the carrots in the vegetable drawer. I hadn’t had carrots in a long time so I grabbed the bag.
I was munching on carrots, annoyed at the way they caught in my braces, but continued eating. They were really good.
Somehow I brought up to Katy that I was eating carrots. Then all the sudden I had a question – was I supposed to eat carrots with braces on?
“Umm no, I don’t think you are.” Was the response I got from my fellow braces-wearing friend.

Oops.

I looked it up to verify this.

No. I’m not supposed to eat carrots.

That’s interesting. [crunch]

As I continued eating the carrots I supposedly was not supposed to have, I found this list of foods that I am not supposed to eat.

FORBIDDEN DELECTIBLES THAT ARE REALLY YUMMY THAT YOU CAN’T HAVE:

Hard candy
Caramel
Taffy
*Hard bread crusts
*Pizza crust
*Hard nuts
*Tacos
*Tortilla chips
Corn Nuts
Popcorn
Jerky
Corn on the cob
Dried fruit

Cut these into bite-sized pieces:

*Bagels
Apples
*Raw carrots
*Raw celery
*Steak

Avoid chewing:
Gum
Ice
Bones

Watch out for sugar in:
*Jelly
*Syrup
*Honey
*Sugared cereals
*Breakfast rolls
*Catsup
*Desserts
*Sodas

* I’ve had these since braces were on.

Ok first of all I’d like to ponder why on earth they had to add “bones” to that list.

“Look I’m really sorry Mr. Orthodontist, but I just couldn’t help myself! I had such a craving for bones.”

Wha?Anyway. I’m pretty sure they want me to starve.

“Umm…lets see. Uh. How about I give you a list of foods you can have. It’ll be a shorter list.”

I’m serious.

They want me to starve.

At least I can still have…umm…lettuce.

And umm. Rice pudding.

Fairwell Wally

Today Wally passed away when I accidently left my Jack Russell in the same room with him. I feel terrible and miss feeling the little furball scamper up and down my arms, nibble on my fingers, and cuddling in the palm of my hand. What saddens me even more is that I can’t get another pet like him – my dog can’t jive with rodents.
It was something I never could imagine happening to me. I mean, I rescued a baby squirrel. It livead in my room. It climber on my shoulder. It ate from my hand. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever laid eyes on — and it was a once in a lifetime happening.
And I ruined it by not paying attention to where my dog was.

*sigh*

Life is hard sometimes.

I’m sorry Wally. Fairwell. You’ve no idea how much I miss you.

Recent Happenings

Well in the recent weeks that we’ve lived here( 2 weeks today), many interesting happenings have taken place.(you can read it summed up on my moms blog.
It’s been quite crazy, though surprisingly we have nothing going every day. For various reasons, we’ve been unable to attend the church we’ve had in mind to try, so we’ve just been hanging out at home. I am excited, though, because I am going up to South Carolina for a week to stay with my aunt and cousins in 5 days. I’m SO excited to see all of the famiy on my moms side: it’s been several years since i’ve seen them! They’re comig down saturday to get me. I cant wait!
We’re going over to visit Milton soon…I’m thinking maybe a week after I get home from sc, but no date has been set yet. It will be soon though! I can’t wait to see all of my awesome friends! Well, almost all of them.
Dad starts training again next week. That’ll be exciting for him I’ll bet! It’s been a while!
Oh; moms belly is getting bigger everyday, that is the baby inside is.;-) Only five more weeks and we can find out what it is and send it to our church, without is knowingthe results, so they can plan a baby shower accordingly and then when we go to it we’ll find out what it is by the way they decorate and buy stuff! I myself would rather just find out, but I think my mom enjoys putting me through harmless agony. :-p Golly last time they knew what Jesse was the whole time and neverold me! Lol

I recently finished a book recommend by a friend of mine. “Adam” by Ted Dekker was VERY good, and I also recommend it to readers who enjoyed “Piercing the Darkness” by Frank Peretti and “Thr3e” by Ted Dekker. You can read a review on it here.

Well other than that, not much is going on. I’ll be posting pictures from my trip to sc when I get back. Adios for now!

Calvinism Part 2 – The Unconfusing and Comprehendible

Okay, first of all I want to say want a Dummkopp I was earlier. I said I believe in the doctrines of grace…that’s what Calvinists call their ”Teachings of God’s Sovereignty” Oops. I meant the other kind of doctrines of grace. Hehe. But, I was kind of mistaken in my last post. Where am I now?

I read some info on Calvinism today. It all makes sense, though a difficult realization. Except for one thing…

Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:12

That’s the only thing keeping me from excepting this theology. Everything makes sense except for this verse. It contradicts Calvinism. It makes it their salvation, our salvation. Huh? I though the salvation is God’s to give us. Why would we need to work out salvation?

I think it very well could be truth…but why would God give even a hint of it not being truth?
I’ll be praying about this more…

Calvinism; The Confusing and Incomprehensible

Calvinism. It just doesn’t make sense to me, and maybe someone can explain it to me better. I am completely open to debate on this. Please feel free to leave a comment.

Where am I confused?
The fact that Calvinism states that we humans have no choice in what we do, that all we do is God’s choice, just doesn’t fit. Wouldn’t that mean that God made evil? That God made us sinners with no choice to sin or not to sin just to throw us into hell for sinning? If God made us this way, fine. We are His creatures and He can do what he wants with us, but that God doesn’t seem to fit in with the God of love that sent His son to die for our sins in our place.
I happen to know for a fact that God made us with free will…at least over certain things. Leviticus 19:5 says so.

And if you offer a sacrifice of a peace offering to the Lord, you shall offer it of your own free will.

So, we do have freewill, if only over certain things. But then, what things do we have freewill over, and what things do we not?

I believe God knows everything. I believe God has control over the entire universe, but I also believe that God gave Man choice over his actions, and that our choices are our own. God is still in control of us. He can stop us and take over whenever He wants. But, I don’t think He does. Yes, God knows all things. Does that have to mean that He makes everyones choice for them? No. God knows what choices we’re going to make, but I don’t think He makes them for us. Because if He did He would be making us sin, which just doesn’t make sense.

Maybe I’m not getting what Calvinism is. And maybe, you can help me understand.

What do I believe?
I believe that faith is a choice each of us has to make. I believe it is not a choice that can be chosen for us. I believe in the doctrines of grace.
